We’ve moved!

For the people who get directed to this site for some unknown reason, welcome to my…archived site! That’s right, this blog will not be updated anymore, and has moved to another location. This is the my new site, used for both anime and serious posts:

I’ll gladly welcome you on that site instead! From there, I’ll refer every now and then to posts that have been made on this site, but do not expect any more posts here.

Yours sincerely,

Mayo Chiki!

Blargh I haet YouTube, everything has to be pitched up to avoid copyright claiming…Typo on purpose.

I should start microblogging some more, but I have no time to do that so…You’re all out of luck. I did manage to finish Mayo Chiki while I’m actually learning for my mid-terms. See? Procrastination did help me get out of my anime slump. Oh wait, I shouldn’t be all too happy about that. As a result, random useless information has entered my head and suddenly popped out when I watched the last 2 episodes. My oh-so-very-short-synopsis:

Finished Mayo Chiki today. The end just makes it too much a generic romcom anime, although the plot was quite interesting. The main male character has a reason to be a bit sluggish when it comes to love. The last episode seemed like an extra episode – or rather, it WAS an omake episode – but it made me think again about glasses obsessions. Maybe it’s true that it’s a form of gap-moe: the beauty is revealed when the glasses are actually off. Which could in fact be similar to the usage of the Burqa for the females of the Islam.

So yeah, I still want to revive this blog, but I hardly see the time for it, nor…the materials. I keep downloading but never do I actually watch something anymore. Addiction of the week: The Binding of Isaac.
Next post: Maybe about how I might screw up my mid-terms or something. Japanese subjects aren’t that uninteresting, so I think I’ll make it.

EL-CID 2011

This is the reason I have been away for a week. Now don’t think I’ll be going to talk about some knight called Rodrigo Diaz de Vivar or something, no. It’s an abbreviation of the “Enige Leidse Commissie Introductie Dagen”, roughly translated as “The one and only commission for the introductory days of Leiden”. As I’m going to start university in about a month, I have to be prepared with whom I’ll be paired up with. And to get to know the city I’ll be living in. This event took on for 5 days, so be prepared for a wall of text instead of tweet spam. Not to forget the hilarious images. Maybe.

I’ll be away for the next 5 days again, now for a camp with first years Japanologists followed by the anime convention AbunaiCon, so you’ll have to bear with this post for the week~

Writing this at 0:26 AM and it’s getting late even if it’s vacation. This is rather an emergency post because I will not post anything this weekend. I’m attending to some event called the “Introduction Week” hosted by my university to get to know the city and of course its students and teachers.

Now you might think I can still access my PC. Yes I can, but without Internet. I’m going to move to my new room in the same city as the university tomorrow and I’m taking my computer with me. Sadly I don’t have an Internet connection there. I will be able to watch some old anime though, so maybe you’ll get lots of those reviews next week. There will also be no tweeting too, my mobile phone sucks.

The week afterwards shall also be a little busy with a camp with first years who are also learning Japanese and Korean followed by the annual AbunaiCon, one of the better anime conventions in the Netherlands. More information about that next post! That’s it for this post. Interesting OP and ED used for this post as ever: Last Regrets from Kanon (2006) and Ichalove Come Home from Mayoi Neko Overrun!

Running up on the backlog

This probably will only happen these weeks, that I will split my Monday posts in more articles. This is because it’s summer break at the moment, so I have more time to scroll through my folder called “backlog”, with over 940GB of anime. I’ll go through it, albeit slowly. The opening I use for this post is Kizuna Iro, the opening of Fortune Arterial, sung by Lia. Which makes the perfect explanation for the following tweets:

I think I’m a fan of Lia. My favourite anime OPs are Toki wo Kizamu Uta and My Soul, Your Beats! and they just happened to be sung by her…

And I just happened to watch Fortune Arterial yesterday, and I critically commented of the OP…And yes, that’s also sung by Lia. Surprise?n

The first tweeting monday

Blogging Sunday

This post is meant as an idea how I will revive this old blog of mine. I still like to write, it’s just the problem that I don’t have standard times for this. Until now. I am thinking of implementing the weekly article that lots of bloggers make use of. I’m joining this habit and I’m calling it the Blogging Sunday. Just to give you a small preview of what it will be, I’ll basically give short summaries of what happened the last week. Another thing I’m going to implement is called Tweeting Monday. I’ll give further explanation of that tomorrow. The two anime openings I use for this post are the ones I fell in love with when I was in Japan. Toki wo Kizamu Uta from Clannad ~After Story~ and My Soul, Your Beats! from Angel Beats.
